about

'At This Time of Year' is a brand new collection of seasonal songs from Siobhan Miller. The songs are a mixture of contemporary folk, traditonal and newly written including a setting of Robert Burns' Poem 'Up in the Morning Early' entitled 'Winter Fairly' and Christmas favourites such as Joni Mitchell's 'River' and 'O Holy Night'. Recroded mainly in Glasgow it features some of Scotland's finest musicins including Tom Gibbs, Jack Badcock of Dallahan, Rura's Jack Smedley and David Foley, Manran drummer Mark Scobbie and vocalist Kim Carnie amongst others. The title track is a new Christmas song written for this recording by bassist and producer Euan Burton and features a string and flute arrangement by Fraser A Campbell. 'Tak a Dram' is recorded here by Siobhan for the first time although it has been a part of her repertoire for many years including a performance on BBC Scotland's Hogmanay Show in 2010.
